How do I measure my boat?
Use the length overall (LOA) on your registration, not the trailer and not the hull number. If your paperwork says 21’6″, round up to 22 feet. That number is what sets your price.
Where do you work on the boat?
Wherever it is. In the water, we come to the slip or the ramp. On the trailer, we come to your driveway or your storage lot, anywhere in the states we cover. We just need a water spigot within about 100 feet and an outdoor outlet.
What types of boats do you service?
Center consoles, bowriders, deck boats, pontoons, aluminum fishing boats, cuddy cabins, jet boats, and ski and wake boats, from 12 to 40 feet. No sailboats. On a cuddy cabin we clean the open areas, not the berth.
How do I know if my boat has gelcoat oxidation?
Run a finger along the hull above the waterline. If it comes back with a white chalky film, that is oxidation. Other signs are a faded, flat look where the color used to be deep, and a surface that never looks clean no matter how recently it was washed. A wash and wax will not fix it. Compounding will.
How often should I have my boat detailed?
In New England the season does the scheduling for you. Most owners book a wash and wax before splash in the spring, and a wash after haul-out before the boat gets wrapped for winter. Salt and grime left on the gelcoat under shrink wrap for five months is what causes most of the oxidation we see. If the boat runs every weekend, a mid-season wash in July keeps it ahead.
Can you detail my boat while it's in the water?
Yes for topside, interior and waxing above the waterline. Hull cleaning below the waterline needs the boat on a trailer or on the hard.
How long does it take?
Most jobs fit a half day, morning or afternoon. Boats over 28 feet, any oxidation work and the full interior and exterior package take the full day. The price calculator on this page tells you which one applies before you book.
What areas do you serve?
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, southern Maine, Rhode Island and Connecticut. If the boat is on a trailer we come to wherever it is parked, coast or no coast, so Nashua and Worcester count the same as Newport. Enter your address when you book and the system confirms the area.
What if my boat is worse than it looks in the photos?
We tell you on site, before we start, and you decide. We never add a charge you did not approve.
